As our legal administration assistant, Rishika provides valuable administrative support to our team of solicitors by performing a variety of administrative tasks, such as filing court documents, assisting with client enquiries, and conducting file reviews.
Rishika takes a proactive and diligent approach to her role, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard. With her strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Rishika contributes to the smooth operation of our firm and ensures that our solicitors have the administrative support they need to focus on delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Rishika is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Business (Economics) at Queensland University of Technology.

Prior to joining JCL, Jazlyn gained experience as teacher aide, rugby league and cricket coach and as a freelance social media coordinator.
She completed her first degree at QUT with distinction in Games and Interactive Entertainment (majoring in Game Design and a minor in Marketing). This degree helped her to form a strong work ethic and independence. In 2024, she completed her fourth degree at university. Her passion for education and sport has helped her motivate and inspire others (especially the next generation) to set and achieve their goals.
Using her diverse skill set in technology and background in education, Jazlyn assists clients and lawyers with various legal administration tasks. Additionally, she maintains current and archival files. Throughout her day, Jazlyn attends to daily administration tasks.

Ralph gained experience in a diverse range of litigious and risk management matters prior to joining JCL, which included public liability, insolvency, civil and commercial litigation.
Ralph also has experience advising local governments on governance and risk issues. Ralph graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Laws, and is an admitted solicitor of both the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia. Ralph is a valued member of our team and works closely with all the senior lawyers within the firm. He is known for his attention to detail, friendly nature, and dedication to ensuring our clients receive positive results.

Darcey, as our legal research clerk, works in close collaboration with our solicitors, offering invaluable assistance in tackling an array of legal research questions, thereby contributing significantly to the smooth operation of our legal team. Darcey is known for her meticulous research skills, time management and consistently delivering a high standard of work. Darcey is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and International Business at Queensland University of Technology.
Emma Tobiano
Emma is a solicitor and Senior Associate at JCL. With six years post admission experience, Emma has an extensive and proven track record of success in the legal industry, predominantly at in house Government roles. Emma brings a wealth of administrative law and civil litigation experience to the JCL team from her previous roles.
Emma has advised on and appeared in civil litigation in the Qld State Courts and possesses an intricate knowledge of the processes and legislative framework of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal where she was a Senior Associate. Emma was previously an Associate to the Honourable Justice Thomas of the Federal Court.
During her time at JCL, Emma has been known for possessing a strong work ethic, and a commitment to efficiently delivering practical results for clients while maintaining a professional and approachable manner.

Prior to joining JCL, Peisi gained valuable experience working in a global law firm, where she was involved in construction litigation. She has also worked in Government, where she focused on an array of international taxation matters as well as working in their in-house legal department, which provided her with a well-rounded skill set that she applies to her work.
Peisi graduated with honours from Bond University, where she completed her Bachelor of Laws. She is also admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
With her sharp legal mind and eye for detail, Peisi has become a valued member of JCL. She is recognised for her excellent problem-solving skills, valuable experience and being both knowledgeable and friendly-natured. With these attributes and skills she goes above and beyond to ensure that clients achieve positive and practical outcomes.
Billie Smith
Billie is our graduate law clerk and works closely with our solicitors to assist with a variety of legal tasks.
Billie is known for her thorough research skills, time management and consistently delivering a high standard of work. Above all, Billie has a proactive approach to the work she does, which has shown her to be a valued team member by both her co-workers and amongst clients.
Billie has recently completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at QUT, and Practical Legal Training (PLT). Upon graduation she hopes to continue working in the areas of insolvency and dispute resolution.
Lola Robinson
A member of the JCL team since 2022, Lola currently works as a graduate law clerk and works closely with our solicitors to assist with a variety of legal tasks.
With a client-oriented focus, she utilises her technical skills and legal flair to consistently deliver work of a high standard. Above all, Lola is known for her friendly demeanour, attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our clients receive positive results.
Outside of JCL, Lola has completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at QUT, and Practical Legal Training (PLT). Upon graduation she hopes to continue working in the areas of insolvency and commercial litigation.

Taylor applies her experience in business to manage the firm’s financial affairs and to ensure all clients consistently receive exceptional service throughout their dealings at JCL.
In 2020 Taylor completed her Bachelor of Business majoring in public relations at the Queensland University of Technology. She applies exceptional accounting skills and business knowledge to her work, and maintains open lines of communication between you and our legal team in relation to fees and costs.
With excellent customer service skills, Taylor is an integral part of our team and her proactive, helpful and diligent attitude is valued by both colleagues and clients. Client feedback consistently praises Taylor’s friendly and approachable demeanour, highlighting that clients always feel comfortable discussing their legal fees with her.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the legal profession, Justine brings qualifications in practice management, marketing and human resources to her role as Practice Manager of James Conomos Lawyers.
Justine has had a progressive transition into law firm management. Having worked for law firms for over two decades; from one of the largest law firms in the UK to mid-tier and boutique firms in Australia, her career affords a unique perspective that she applies to all aspects of practice support.
Working closely with James Conomos to run the busy practice and supporting all staff, Justine’s key areas of specialisation include people and culture, implementing systems and legal technologies that drive operational efficiencies and a focus on client communications and relationships.
Justine is a proud member of the Queensland branch and the summit committees of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) and an associate member of the Queensland Law Society.
